Been looking for an inflatable boat for some time. Missed an Achilles 9’ for $50 on CL about a month ago and kicked myself ever since. I was first too!
Found this one in Berkeley for $100 as the gent was moving that day and didn’t want to haggle. Original post said $150 obo and I thought for sure he meant $1150. Nope. I stuck the pedal to the metal and zoomed down there.
Ok so this won’t win any beauty contest but the gent said “it’s been holding air for three days. After that it’ll loose a little air due to having no air caps.” I said “You mentioned best offer will you take a $100?” He did and I was one happy camper...er boater.

Well the truth is this boat isn’t all happy as the first two boards have rotted and left only the outlines of it’s original self. I’m SO glad when I initially took the boards out I didn’t throw away those rotted ones! I normally do things like that to make life harder on myself.
I just so happen to have plywood left from another project and am in the process of priming them now. I’ll have three coats on them then some urethane paint I have left over them to cover with padding.
I’m NO wood worker and have made a dozen cuts just to be sure I’m not shorting it.
Wish you’d seen the look on my wife’s face when I dragged this “thing” home. Like asking her to gut a fish. :smt003
She said “What IS that?”
I replied “She’s a beauty isn’t she!?”
*The LOOK*....
More to come. Water test next week!

Well FINALLY got done with the wood install the two parts that were rotted out. Took awhile as I had to make numerous cuts which I don’t get as I had made a template from the originals. Strange you’d think it would have been cut & done. Noooooo.
Anyway all done. Now to go test it’s water worthiness.
Oh and if I don’t come back in time:
Happy Father’s Day to all.

She had to feel better about “that thing”when you told her it was only $100!

Nice score!
