Bucks Lake macks fished tough for everyone I talked to today but I persevered through a broken rudder cable, a bit of a sun burn, and a few hours to get one smallish fish to the boat.  It is a new species cross-off for me (in the 'yak at least) and there's way worse things to do than float around talking trash with a buddy.

Tight lines!

Good job!
It looks like you guys had the lake to yourselves.
Do you know if the campsites are open?

Everything I drove by including Haskins and Sundew were still closed.

LOL...I'll never complain too loudly about a fish that can make a 60 foot run but there are macks in that lake to 4 times that size...they just didn't get that big by being easy prey!

I can hear how excited in his voice when landed that trophy size Mack.  Thanks for sharing the video Jcat.

Awesome video and how cool that your son kept his composure fighting a big fish.

Bring him down to Tomales or the SF Bay and we'll get him on a big bat ray.  Arms will be like spaghetti noodles afterwards.   :smt044

He's already gettin' where he outfishes me pretty darn frequently (he got me 3-zip that day in fact).... and, yeah, I imagine battling a 'ray would be good for some fatigue!
