Took the boys to PG, just south of Lovers Point.   About 10am on Friday. Fished with calamari on 4oz dropper rigs.  Big swell so didnt paddle out too far but did go to the first kelp bed and anchored on the kelp.  Tried on the bottom and halfway up to the top.- really all depths.
Only one bite.
Calamari cut into about 2 inch pieces.  Too small?
Had fun and it was a pretty day!

Lot of fun and a beautiful place

Great that you can get your boys outside

Big swells can definitely slow the rockfish bite, especially in close around the keel beds where the currents really surge.

Try again on a nice calm day with minimal swell and I bet you’ll have better luck.

Looks like a fun day!

You're doing it correct. A southern swell will really mess up the bite, which is probably what happen. Just try again, I'm sure you'll have more success.

I always catch something when I fish, but it's usually only a buzz.

Yep, it's a very slow day yesterday for me too.  Thanks for the report and picture Spaine.
