A new reel for the "Tackle-Ho's"

I'm normally not much for jumping on the latest crazes in fishing equipment, but a buddy let me fish with his Abu Garcia Revo STX a few months ago and I was really impressed with the castability, smoothness, and the quality drag. I can easily see why these reels have such a following already.

Right now I'm in the market for a new reel for salmon fishing in the delta and maybe for some rockfishing and I came across an announcement for the new Abu Garcia Revo Inshore. It ain't cheap, but it has me drooling  and my wife just shook her head at me when I showed it to her.

Where were you able to order them? I'd like to have one of these as soon as possible!

Looks very comparable to the Daiwa Inshore in almost every aspect.... which is a $129 reel. 

I wonder what tangible advantages are offered by the Abu that warrant the extra $100 on the price tag? 

I'm curious to what our resident reel expert thinks about this one

Thru the Abu rep, no sign of them yet.

I saw and played with one of these at ICAST. It is a sweet little gem of a reel. Jimmy Decker told me it has 24 lbs of drag pressure (!) and will fish lines from 8 to 30. The Revos quickly earned a stellar reputation in SoCal - plenty of saltwater bass guys happily throw them, so the new Inshore model should do very well down here. I wonder how resistant it is to corrosion?

i'd just go through the drag washers.  then it should be fine. 

I checked out some Revos at the Vegas Bass Pro shop today. They had a couple models of Revos. Good looking reels.

BTW...the bass pro shop is very cool. Can't wait 'till one is built in Manteca or Sac.
