Hello, this is Sawtooth, aka Dominic. I’m a new member to NCKA and really looking forward to getting into kayak angling. I live up in the Santa Cruz mountains and will be frequenting the coast from Monterey to Pacifica.

Most of my saltwater fishing to date has been trolling behind my old sail boat, fishing from our RIB, or spearfishing in the tropics. A few years back my wife and I moved onto a small sailboat and spent two years exploring the Pacific. It was an amazing adventure traveling from San Francisco down the coast to Mexico, then westward through the islands of the South Pacific before ending our trip in Australia at the end of 2016. Along the way we had the opportunity to explore the marine ecosystems of some of the most remote atolls and islands in the world. The fishing and diving were amazing, and with fresh food in short supply a tasty fish dinner was always in high demand. It was the trip of a life time.

Unfortunately after two years we had to sell the boat and move back to resume the working life. Now that we are back and have started a family I’m looking to explore our local coastline in more depth and meet some fellow anglers.

Thanks for all of the information that has been shared on the forum, it’s a wealth of knowledge and seems like a tight knit community. I have a fair amount of experience with blue water sailing and outfitting sailboats if anyone has questions that I can help answer.
