barbless is also safer for the humans.

I have to admit that's a factor for me too...  had one hook in my finger, I'd be ok without going thru that again.  If you fish a lot, though, it's only a matter of time, really.  I also have mutilated or just cut off a few fish that were hooked bad, some folks say the hooks rust or fall out on their own...  I doubt that.

Thanks for the encouragement!  I'll give it a shot Sat and see how it goes.

I've been fishing barbless (smash the barbs w/ pliers) for a while now and really haven't noticed much of a difference of landing fish. You just need to be really attentive of what the fish is doing while hooked and keep the pressure on.

Very good point! I have yet to really jab myself w/ a hook (knocking on wood) but the thought of it bothers me.
:smt105 A big motivating factor in changing all my lures. And of course trebles are all replaced w/ siwash. :happy10:

I really think nseal is just one of Joel's buddy.  Joel used to post as a " Guest" so it would seem like someone else posting.  In the good old days.

No warden will go on record saying that they use cotton gloves or cotton balls to test barbs.

This has happened to me while steelhead fishing.  Thankfully the warden has moved on to Marysville so if thats your area keep an eye out!
Marysville!?!?  I fish there.  gotta be careful...
