So we rolled into Ocean Cove at around 1:30 as we kinda got a late start.  Setup camp and fished at around 3.  Launch was cake as they have a cove with a boat launch there.  Paddled about a mile out.  Wind was picking up and it got a bit choppy, but we managed to pull in about 10 mixed RF between the two of us before we decided to head in.  We sauted a couple of those fish for dinner and were up again the next morning and on the water by 8 o'clock.  FAC is what we found, the water was basically glass.  Dropped the crab trap and headed out a little bit further this time.  Fishing was steady, but nothing amazing.  The pre-noon highlight was getting buzzed by a pod of Porpoises and a couple sea lions.  Also, a huge school of jellies swam by and it was one of the coolest things I've ever seen on the water.  It reminded me of that scene with them in Finding Nemo:  First one, then two, then hundreds.  Around Noon, the clouds cleared up and the bite turned on like a switch.  Lots of Canarys and Gophers, and mixed blacks and blues,  then my bud Nate gets hit hard and pulls up an 8 lb/ 24" Vermillion.  About that time we decided to head back in and pack up for the drive back to Sac.  Good times.  Definitely hitting OC again!  Pics Below:
