Hi everyone,

Checking the weather and swell forecast, 12/29 HMB seems borderline doable early in the morning before the winds pick up in the afternoon. Is anyone up for one last shot? Backup is sturgeon, so I'm going fishing, regardless.

Half of me wants to try.. I never seem to do well fishing RF by pillar point but there are other options in the area... The rain is whats got me concerned... don't want to torture myself

Heh, the torture is part of the fun!

Fishermen are all masochists.....

I'll be sturgeon fishing out of Alviso tomorrow (12/28) and will decide last minute for 12/29.

Welp, I marked plenty of fish out of Alviso, but couldn't hook a sturgeon to save my life. Had 3 good pumps but missed them all. Listening to the radio, seems not a lot of people were having success. Did see one jump about 20 yards in front, which was cool. Met someone on the boat ramp who had released a 39" on grass shrimp, that seemed pretty much it. Weather was beautiful and scenery was gorgeous.

I'm going to call it and stick with these Alviso sturgeon. Looks like rockfish will be next year.

I knew i wasn't the only one trying at the last minute. I got skunked on the 30th but had a nice Cod dinner on the 23rd. If you want to try Monterey Bay when the season opens, let me know.
