Can't speak for pHenix, although I know one OG at least that has custom wrapped a few. He took some Albies on one if I recall. Myself I'm a calstar guy, but will try any brand once

I've been very happy with Avet as a brand for some years now. Good customer service, and very good reel maintenance tuneups with $45 and no hassle.

I think Sportsman's Warehouse might've received some last week.  There are a couple icast videos on these rods on youtube if you wanted to check them out.

I checked out the videos and Sportsmans warehouse. I don't think they have made it to the West Coast yet. There was a PSA on Bloody decks saying it will be here soon though. Ill try to get some for the MBK fishing derby

Here's a snippet of the Fishermans Warehouse ad I saw mentioning the abyss hd rods.  Seems like it's a Fairfield store exclusive.

Phenix is from Long Beach ca, they are the west coast. Phenix abyss HD looks promising.

Hmmmm. Very tempting.  He's got a pretty sweet selection of rods there. And reels too. Was checking out an Avet last time I was in there
