Does anyone have a Big Rig FD by chance? Just wondering how it performs.
Thanks Level 4

Well, sh*t. I guess it's just Gecko and I...LOL. Just bought one. I'll report back as soon as I fish it.

Hey Level 4, I'm interested in the Big Rig FD also and would surely like to hear your thoughts on it once you've taken out. Please keep us posted. Thanks in advance!

What kind of fishing do you plan for it. It looks like it is designed with bass fishing in mind and is a little short on space if you have a nice stringer of ling cod and rockfish.

Had it out twice now. Really like it. Plan on fishing  both fresh and saltwater. Seems to have enough storage.

I would like to fish for salmon, lingcod and maybe even do some crabbing with whatever kayak I purchase. More importantly, I am a heavier than normal sized person at 5'8”, 270lbs. So a kayak that can support a person of my stature and provide a stable and safe platform is a high priority.

Go to the dark side!!!!
But once, like a 19 Outback :smt001

Although the big rig looks nice...

Check out the Wilderness Radar 135. 475 lb max capacity. It paddles well and you can pedal or use the electric drive.

Never mind, I forgot you already bought one.

If I go with Hobie, then I would be looking at the PA-12 or PA-14. The Outback width and capacity is a little on the low side for me, I think.

And yes, the Big Rig is nice.

Thanks for the suggestion, E Kayaker! I will check out the Radar 135. And no, I don't have a kayak yet. Still doing my research.

Ok I didn't notice there were two different people looking at them. I also seem to remember the fd didn't have a dedicated spot for the transducer like the Radar has. Good luck with your search.

Hmm, interesting -  sounds like a good bass boat, not sure about rocker/chines towards seaworthiness. Look forward to hearing reports.

I have owned a Cobra FD and a Malibu X Factor...both really stable platforms. But this Big Rig is in a league of its own. Has a molded in transtucer spot with a scupper to make install simple. Can also house the large Lowrance triple shot transducer. Pretty pleased with the boat. I'm also a bigger guy. 6'4 300 pounds.
