A plea.  I’ve never paddled nor fished in Folsom, but I have some free time coming up and was thinking about giving it a shot, to see if I can land some bass.

Recommendations for places to launch/fish would be super helpful.

Last I heard Granite Bay was doing a little better than Browns for bass. They were deep last time I was there a few weeks ago. 25-60'. Very slow presentation worked best for me. Slowly dragged drop shots across bottom.

Most kayakers that fish the North arm of Folsom launch at Rattlesnake Bar ramp (off of Auburn/Folsom Rd).  I personally have only been skunked but don't let that keep you from going (I'm still gaining experience).  RacinRob knows what he is doing.

I was at Rattlesnake Bar last week on my bike.  Water is down, gate at the boat ramp closed but parking lot open.  Ramp is still best entry but you will need wheels, expect crossing some dirt, but at current level no step ledges yet getting your yak in the water.  When low like this the entry from Douglas Blvd is good in that you can drive the dirt roads to an easy bank launch.  I heard the trout bite has not hit, but bait schools are forming.
