I'm keen on trying. I can't see a bad outcome other than little to no smoke flavor from a very possible short cook time.

don't waste time smoking the crab - just find some smoked butter. It goes great with them and the crab won't be dried out and rubbery. Creekside smokery in El Granada used to sell it, but they're closed now. There are ways to make your own though - the googles know.

Clean then boil 15-20 min and Ice as soon as out of the water.... Best meat in my opinion.... :smt006
