Tried to get out to the buoy to give salmon a shot but it was too rough,fished inside the reef for buttes at first no drift at all then the wind picked up and the drift was too fast. Picked up a bunch of small buttes and a couple small cabs biggest butte was about 20". Then the wind started screaming off the beach and I had a long paddle back. Felt good to get out had 1 good pulldown but it didn't stick, maybe next week the big boys will be there.

What are you using for bait there???  Squid????

When you hook a couple of mackerel on a sabiki they really twist it up, I just troll a small spoon got 4 on the way out.

Let me know next time you go out! I know a fairly reliable spot to net shiners. I might try to get out one day after work this week.
