Give the apex a try... I got tired of croakers and other fish shredding my bait.  Figured I wouldn’t have to check my bait as often, or pay super close attention to it.  Boy did the single apex hook work too... sank deep in the bottom jaw.  Had a tough time pulling it out even after I crimped the barb...
We're gonna need a bigger boat!

Honestly, I dont even know how you crimped the barb on the stock apex hook.  Its nearly impossible. Please show us a picture of that hook lol.

You normally have to replace those apex hooks with barbless siwash hooks. Only a Dremel can cut those Barb's off.

Nice to me you all today.  The bite was hot for 30 mins.  Hook up two and lost it after 20 mins fight.  It could have been my PB.  Here is a glance of the fish jumped in a distance.

I spent the better part of a day on the water pinching down the barb on an FBR 2 weeks ago. eventually the barb just broke off.

Nice fish. I’ve tried the apex several times with only attracting Smelt. Hearing on the radio all the time that they work. Only got one good 31inch fish this year. Looking forward to next salmon season.
