Yes it does. California law only gives a ticket for stealing for under 950..00.  Like the officer said you touch them they can have you in jail for assault.  Go figure?  Montana laws and living is getting more and more the way I want to live. Remember if its not in my hand its not in possession . That's what the guy at the pawn shop that had my gear in his hand as he threw it on the ground. Its been a lot of work processing the paperwork for insurance. I feel victimized by that now.
The pawn shop has your stuff? He should give you back your stuff. I think it's illegal to buy stolen goods.

Technically, many shops end up buying them without knowing they were stolen.  Unfortunately, that doesn't matter, if proven they were stolen, they gotta give it up.
If you ain't first, you're last.

The fact of the matter you are right.  I just happened to be there before the perps entered the building thus thwarted there mission I guess.   I have sent detailed list to the best of my knowledge of what they took to the police with like pictures as well as the pictures of the stuff involved.  I Just cannot believe the masses of these younger mostly folks that are like watching a Zombie movie walking about the area there.  Its like a Human wasteland. I never remember as a youth living in this state seeing such mess with no one being held accountable.  I would not want to grow up here as a young person. I am just amazed at the mess we live in.

Unless it starts at the school they go to, or at the mall, etc....

Blaming parents is oversimplifying IMHO.

Not every bad choice a kid makes can be linked to the parents, especially if the kids are tweekers as adults.   I know plenty of good parents that have had good kids go down a bad path.

Eureka is pretty bad zombie wasteland. I just had to tell a guy to get out of my dumpster and pick up the bag of hypodermic needles that he dropped.

Sigh.

There are many dynamics..  My Wife is a teacher and a couple of years ago a student made a threat to come to the school and shoot her. She has been a gunshot victim before so this set deep into her mind not to mention the physical trauma of being in surgery for hours.  We had to hire an attorney and file a restraining order to keep the kid away from her. The district tried moving her and not do anything to the  8th grader. He came back after the restraining order and taunted her. We went to court to have the judge tell him you wont do this again and let him off.  With no psychological commitment on behalf of the child, no fine, no community service. Just a slap on the wrist and your a good kid and you did not mean that did you. He said yes I did and they let him go. So we fought with the school to have him removed and we were the bad guys?????

A lot of these people choose not to change and they are entitled by the gifts of no responsibility.  Its not my fault if you would.  Yes drugs are a tough nut but with all the things that incorporate this no worries attitude I feel we need some kind of change.
