Hi.

I live near Sac and will be in Monterey in two weeks on vacation.

Does anyone know where I can sit in a Cobra Marauder XF near one of these locations.

I am a little wider than the average bear (5'-10", 265#) and I sat in an OC Scupper Pro at the lake and wasn't sure I was getting out.  That seat is a wee bit snug.

Thanks!

Try Kayak Connection at the Moss Landing location.

Mooch,

Thanks for the direction but they don't have any in stock.

Tight lines!

That's unfortunate :smt011

If you're willing to drive to Half Moon Bay - I know for a fact that HMB Kayak Company has the Marauders for demo (and sales as well).

I have a Marauder XF, maybe I can find my way down to Monterey while you are in town. I need to pre-fish there anyways...

Boy, you guys are great!

Bill thanks for the offer!  At this time, all I want to do is eliminate kayaks that my butt doesn't fit into (a long and distinguished list which is growing quickly).  As I have one of these, I don't need the boat anytime soon.  Her OC Malibu II (grandpa drop-shipped it to my office for Christmas with instructions to put it under the tree) works just fine right now, but sooner or later (hopefully sooner), I want a real fishing boat.  Hey, at least I have a ff and gps.  It could be worse..........

Thanks again for all the generosity you have all provided and I look forward to being able to reciprocate!

Alright... big guy advise from another big guy.

I'm 6'4" and pushing 300 lbs... (290 sounds so much better doesn't it?).

My first kayak, which I fished from for over 5 years, was a Malibu Two.  Good stable no-frills boat but kind of a dog in terms of speed.

I now paddle a Marauder and it is far more comfortable than the Malibu Two and nearly as stable but much much more efficient in the water.  I'd be willing to bet you'd fit just fine.

Other kayaks worth consideration are the Malibu X-factor (definitely will fit this one... it's as big as they get but slower and heavier than the Marauder) and a Prowler Big Game (similar dimensions as the Malibu Two).

EK,

I know what you mean.  Everytime I manage to get below 250lbs. I throw a party.

Thanks for the info.  The Malibu Two XL is a very stable ride but a pig to paddle into a wind or current.  I will definately be checking out a Marauder XF when I get a chance.

Thanks again!
