Looking to take my brother out tomorrow and put him on some fish. He is new to kayak fishing, but a skilled waterman.

Looks like the pay to play boats are crushing halibut and striper in the north bay, and rockfish on the big hungry.

Conditions are looking pretty good far as I can tell in both the bay and San Mateo coast. I was thinking Paradise Park for halibut/striper (I’ve never fished that area of the bay)  or HMB for rockfish???

Not looking to steal anyone’s hole, but if you have been to either area lately for these types of fishing, a tip or two would be appreciated as I haven’t been out in a while.

Go to Simply Fishing tomorrow instead at Ocean Cove. Fish if you want or just come to hang out and bring something for the potluck.  You don't need to be registered to come and chill or you can fish but not compete.

Cabeza, that sounds like a great time, but it’s a 3 hour drive for us and we’ll need to stay more local to the Bay Area tomorrow.

I have to stay close to home myself this weekend so I may hit Tomales tomorrow morning for a few hours. Weather and tide look great.

Nada for me besides some chomped baits. I'll figure this place out eventually. Bait was plentiful again, especially in the main channel north of Pelican Point. Lots of kayakers out there today and the weather was gorgeous until the fan turned on around 11. I'm assuming it was a thresher, but there was a massive splash near Hog that looked like a refrigerator had been dropped from an airplane. Pretty cool sight to see.

Your putting in the time. You will get em. It's not uncommon for Threshers to leap out of the water in Tomales. I have seen multiple Threshers breach south of hog island.
Big fish. Impressive to witness.

We tried paradise park. I had one bite, assuming halibut, but nothing else. Met NCKA member, Spaghetti, who caught some undersized halibuts and a thresher.

Good time had despite the lack of fish, and learned some things from Spaghetti as we were pulling out. I had been fishing too shallow on the warm water for the ‘buts. Should have know my usual early season techniques needed to be employed in deeper water this late in the season.

Nice meeting you, Ed, tight lines all.
