The seas were perfect with no wind, great for stripers.  I arrived in Pacifica at about 7p.m. and began fishing my favorite part of a long strip of beach.  At around 7:20 I got impatient and moved to another location approximately 30 yards away. There were 6 other guys plugging and no one had a fish so I decided to try jigging my hair raiser next to a kelp bed.  As expected I snagged, as soon as I break my line, exactly were I l  just moved from fish were busting everywhere.  Bait was popping and only a 3 feet from shore.   :smt010 By the time I rigged back up it was over and I struck out for the night.  A whopping 20-25 # striper came up from the mad rush.  It was the guys first beach striper. The last I saw of him he was cradling it like a baby down the beach.

One bright spot was a pod of 20 or so dolphin busting bait only 150 yards from shore. What a show!

Salmon are close to shore (although numbers are thin) and the bait is thick.  Probably a good time to make a recon trip for Linda Mar salmon/Halibut/Striper.
