Launched @ 9:30 out of Harvey, white caps offshore outside the kelp.  Headed straight out to around 1.25 miles out, 50 yards beyond furthest kelp slightly NW of the launch.  2 party boats were another .5 miles out w/ to PBer's hanging around.

Everything about the day was warm, warm wind, sun, nice for a change.

Wind slowly rising from around 5-10 to 15+ within an hour.  Had good action on the corners of various kelp beds, mostly got hit every time i dropped (by small rockies) but w/ the wind kickin it was pretty tough tryin' to hold the boat in to the wind, paddle & work the rod.

Seas were 3-8 ft.

In the end brought my line up & could see a Ling, & another, trailing my bait.  Kept going up & down on top to no avail so I went all the way down again & hooked up.  He was only a 20" so i called it a short day.

Hope the wind settles down soon, been blowing hard every day for about 2 weeks.
