Fished Spring Lake yesterday evening from about 3:30PM 'til a little after 7:00PM. Fished mini-crawlers about four feet under a small float. Used Shakespeare UL's with 4lb test and size 10 hooks.

What I thought were bluegills the other day were actually green sunfish. Yesterday my buddy and I caught about 30 each. From 3" little dinks up to about 7" little bruisers. Lotta fun on the UL's. We fished by the tules(?) around submerged logs.

Nice report.  I used to catch green sunfish out of sugar pine reservoir when I was a kid and had a great time.  Did you catch any big ones?

Nothing too big. The biggest ones were a little bit smaller than the ones you posted the other day. I'd love to tie into a hawg one with the ultra lite! I can't wait to catch a big smelt with it. Lotsa fun, the UL was a good investment.

Yea I have a ugly stick 5' UL with a little 500 spirex reel and 4 lb line, it is my favorite setup.  Last year while crappie fishing at Indian Valley I landed a 4-5 LB largemouth on it around a bunch of submerged trees.
