Tiki Lagoon / Empire Cut 7-27-19

Fished Empire Cut down to Mildred Island this morning.  Caught a couple small bass.  Topwater, crankbait and worm.  Small stripers were chasing bait everywhere.  I didn't know what they were and so tossed a crankbait out there and caught one....  The crankbait was almost as big as the striper.  A guy in a bass boat said they were catching small stripers in Whiskey Slough but I didn't go up that way.  Boat traffic totally sucked.  If I ever go back there, I would only fish the marina no wake zone and be off the water early. 

How hot out there, Earl?

I don't know exact temps, but pedaling back in around noon it was hot. Even with the breeze I'd say it was in the mid-90's. 

Big "frog only" tournament out of Russo's today and tomorrow.  I'd stay away from Frank's Tract tomorrow...
