Launched Santa Cruz around 7am and met up with the Bushmaster, Youtuber Nhiavangfoto, and Anthony in his "small boat".  Weather was calm in the morning and I used a 3 way swivel for halibut with little success.  Rockfish kept nibbling away messing things up and after a few bites my squid's presentation looked sad  :smt013  A couple snags here and there didn't help either...  All said and done, I landed nada...  Going to need to re-tie some leaders and rethink my game plan  :smt012

The others did better.  Nhiavangfoto caught a small salmon, handful of rockfish, and a small halibut.  Anthony and his father caught one keeper halibut, a short, and a handful of decent rockfish.  Bushy reportedly had a keeper halibut up to the boat... but it spit the hook.  He landed a keeper ling and a handful of rockfish.  :smt004

Around 10am the water was like glass.  We were out past the red buoy and 2 separate fins broke the surface.  Juvenile sharks maybe 5-6 feet at best.  Just cruising, slowly, soaking up the warm water I suppose.  Anyways, we grouped up,considered our options, and decided to move in a mile to fish the remainder of the trip.  I'll be back...
We're gonna need a bigger boat!

Sounds like fun. That's an interesting boat.

Thanks Aaron- Great to see you out there.  You are ranking amongst the truly commited. bravo.

Skunks are just fuel for the next go-out.  I'll show you my hoochie troll setup, might catch those little fish but they can become bait rather than ruining and wasting bait.

You lucked out with a nice sighting of GWS!  Especially because the were SMALL!!!

Bushy

ps- time for a name change Avatar?  Do I have to do everything myself?  hmph

Yeah, Porta-bote. Folds to a size of an SUP. Very sea worthy
