Hi all, in 2015 I sold my kayaks after my first son was born and had been itching to get back in. Well now that my son is a little older and I have a bit more free time, I recently purchased another pair of kayaks for my wife and I.

I am planning on getting them wet for the first time over at Berryessa. My question is where would be the best place to launch a kayak on the Capell/Putah creek side of the lake? Years ago I would launch out of Markley and Capell, but it's been a long time and I'm not sure if things have changed or if they've added some new facilities friendly for kayaks. Thanks in advance.

Cappel is still free launch and with the water being high makes it easier and a short trip to your car. Make sure to dry your kayak, there are inspectors there, but they didn’t really check mine the last couple times I went there. The other launch up north would be Putah campground. I think I paid $7 to launch if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the info. We got a late start to the morning so we ended up launching in lake Solano. This was our first time in our new sleds so this was a shakedown session. I'll be giving berryessa a crack right after the 4th of July weekend.
