Time for the annual family trip with the in-laws in Santa Cruz.  Looking to fish around the kelp near Coral St. 6/25-29, thats Monday through Thursday.  Looking for enough fish for a fish taco family feast and drift a little for halibut.  Anyone interested??? Also when do the new MLPA closures take effect down there?? Any info. will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hey BF17 I am thinking of Coral St. as a backup plan Saturday with the primary plan to hit Carmel River St. Beach or Monastery Beach and try for Halibut with rockfish as a fall back option.  I need to be off the water by noon or so as my wife has me volunteered for Blues Festival.  I am local so I can be flexible. let me know what you think.

We'll be down in the Moterey Area tomorrow to scope things out, but without the kayaks  I may bring my radio out and may call if I see any of you out there. Channel 69

On wednesday morning im gonna hit cowells and capitola to see what the water looks like , if its murky i'll be heading to launch form otter cove working my way south but will be spearing. i usually go as far as mcabee and then head back south.

if its murky in sc and cap i'll be in monterey getting ready to launch at otter by 900 am or so.

i prefer monterey so if its not clear at cap or sc i'll be at otter cove.

i have a green cherokee with a gray kayak.

maye i'll see ya there!
