Hello Everyone, My name Joe, I've been fishing the California Coast since I moved here in 1996 (from So. NJ).  I've kayak fished here and there over the years, but never consistently.  Over the last 13 years or so, I've owned two Osprey 24s, but recently sold the last one.   Still need to kill fish one way or another.  So my wife and bought our own kayaks, and started getting after it a couple months ago. She's an outstanding outdoors person  in her own right.

Even when we had the other boats, we were always interested by the idea of being able to get into spots that were tough with a bigger boat, or just made more efficient with a kayak.  So far its been awesome hitting Muir, Doran, north bay, and Sausalito, for halibut and salmon, and yet still barely scratching the surface of the all the possibilities.

Though I don't have a lot of experience on a kayak, I do have a decent amount experience fishing the bay area. I have also spent a lot of time on the water  surfing, windsurfing, and sailing this area as much as possible over the last 23 years.   That said, there are always people that know a lot more than me (about everything), so hopefully I can can learn something and be helpful at the same.  Im in northern San Rafael.

Welcome. Looking forward to your reports...
Are you pondering what I’m pondering?

Welcome aboard! It's great that you fish with your wife. A few of us do. Hope to see you on the water.

Welcome Joe. I know the north coast but not the Bay Area so if you care to have a tag along sometime let me know. I plan to start hitting the area starting next weekend for some of that halibut action. One can hope right?😂

Hey Joe,  newbie here as well and I’m trying to partner/group up for salmon and rockfish trips. I’ve thought about trying to launch from Muir beach for Rockfish. How has the salmon fishing been?
