Caught 9  medium  rockfish .75 miles straight out from harbor, Outside the first buoy. Possiibly a couple of halibut hits ,no luck. Saw 3 or four pb's close by the kelp off in the distance at Pleasure Point mid morning. Seabass?

Foggy in the morning. Sunny and beautiful in the afternoon. I'm hoping to get some of that action on Saturday. Will post a report...

Just fishing in the usual place looking for halibut, didn,t even want these guys (tasty though, ate one ,gave the rest away). Caught on a squid skirt tipped with squid, one ounce weight, tinsel insert.  Used a pink and also a white. Left the fishfinder at home. Those pink b2's (haven't tried the skirts yet)with bait added are just  death on lings. Hard to say, but I think they hit them harder than  they do fish traps. They evidently love octopus, at least they're always hacking them up in my lap.

The wind came up early at about 11 am and then died early about 4 pm. The wind has been strong in the afternoon on some days and quite moderate on others.
Did you see the kid on Bayside's website with the 30 lb halibut? I think I may have felt a twinge of envy.

those brown and copper rockfish make a tasty taco.

did not see the bayside marine page. maybe I won't look either,  :smt002.

so you were going with a carolina rig? 1oz will keep you on the bottom? not much drift then?
how big a b2 squid do you use? I have 3 5" MORF squids I've never tried.
by coincidence, rigged one up as a teaser the other day for future use.
