Hi all,

My teenage son is crazy about fishing, but unfortunately I'm not much of a fisherman. However, I would like to take him out on the ocean, and I'm hoping that somebody can show me the ropes of safe kayaking a little. My son bought himself an ocean kayak and got a fish finder for Xmas. He has been out on the ocean with Ruben before. (He's our neighbor; I'm sure many of you know him.) However, I have not been on the ocean before and probably need some tips. We're hoping to go tomorrow...

Thanks!

Best to go with someone with experience and make sure both of you know how to self rescue. Good luck

They have guided tours around. I know of on ein Mendocino that launches out of Van Damme Beach. Might be good to go with a group like to get some experience.
Either way, be safe and have fun.

Welcome to the community.   :smt001

Shelter Cove isn't too far from you guys.  Father-son trips are some of my favorite for sure.

Here are links to a couple of those trips:

Thanks for the recommendation Victor ! Unfortunately I only do trips for “ adults “ 18years or older. If he’s 18 plus perfect let’s setup a trip  :smt003
My suggestion would be to setup a trip with Eric as he’s one of the OG’s around here as far guides go and shelter would be one amazing place to learn.
Oh and cheers for wanting to show your Son the sport and doing it safely.

Kyle, is the 18+ only rule because of the graphic sexuality and violence your tours feature?
