Looking to buy a used casting rod and reel w/ line counter for striper/sturgeon fishing.

Anyone have any that they want to get rid of?

How well does casting work with a line counter. I've never tried it.

I have an Okuma low profile linecounter that casts okay. There is no adjustment on the casting portion, just good ol spool tension. The line counters I’ve used don’t have much casting adjustment so they usually only cast sort of okay.

At any rate I don’t have anything to sell, but is there a specific reason you’re looking for a line counter? Other than trolling and jigging so I know how deep I am?

If you don't want to shell out for a line counter reel or potentially sacrifice casting viability, an option is metered line.

"Depth-Hunter from PowerPro. There are 4-colors (Blue/Yellow/Green/Orange), with 25 feet of color per segment. There is also a black tic marking every 5 feet for accurate and instant depth measurement. This allows you to present your lure in the strike zone easily, accurately and repeatedly."

I need it for precise depth while trolling and jigging.

I have a cheap Daiwa heavy casting rod and Daiwa Accudepth reel with line counter that I'll sell for $40.  Let me know if you're interested.

Yeah, it's wrangled several 30"+ Halibut and 20-30# monster rays from Tomales last summer.  Only reason I'm replacing it because I bought a lighter setup.
