After the fishing turned hot this past week outside of Humboldt Bay I was worried when yesterday's bite went somewhat cold because we'd planned to head out on my dad's Triumph 195 this morning.  Hit the water just before 6AM from Fields Landing.  Got outside and the fleet was congregating in 240 FOW around 6 miles northwest of the jaws.  Nice water and really nice weather.  Had many light bites and some silvers to the boat.  Got two kings in the box by a little after 7.  Consistent bite until we wrapped it up at 9AM with our 6th fish - biggest only around 15, but I'm not complaining.  I'm excited to try the Squaw Candy recipe in my new smoker.   :smt001

I'm still waiting for the wind to die down here in Fort Bragg. I saw lots of boats out at the buoys at Noyo Harbor Saturday morning but by noon the boats had been replaced by whitecaps. The forecast shows another week of over 25 mile per hour winds  :smt011.

I've been waiting for the good condition too, but always miss it...  This weekend supposed to calm down, but I gotta go away again...  That's just my luck...

Very yakkable, Hawk, but the salmon are too far for yakfishing them.  Hopefully they'll move in around the jetties at some point this Summer...

The winds have been higher south of here for a few days - I heard from Sonny/Sailfish that Shelter Cove was totally blown out.  Thursday is showing promise this week as potentially very calm, both north and south of the Cape.
