Longshot I know but....I got crushed by a wave at Bean Hollow today and lost my pedal drive in the surf. If anyone is there at low tide please look around for me. I also lost a couple of  rocket launcher rod holders.
Thanks,
John

Looks like there is a minus tide tomorrow at 5:30am. That might be the time to find it if it's going to be found...
I don't like stuff that sucks.

Just to follow up. I went back to BH the next day at the minus tide and no sign of the drive. I think the steepness of the beach makes things wash down deeper. However, I  was really glad to find the old towel I put over my fish  :smt002

After some denial I admitted it was gone and ordered a new drive from CCK where I bought the kayak a few months before. I want to give a shout out to Tammy who was able to get me a significant discount from Native that helped take away a little of the financial sting.

Here's a useful fact for anyone getting a replacement drive from Native: The drive does not come with the bar that holds it into the kayak. Seriously, the first line of the instructions is "retrieve the thwart bar from your kayak..." Fortunately, I opened it and noticed this before I left CCK. The owner, Keith, was as dumbfounded as I was that they would not include it or alert you that you might need to order one. Since the bar is just a piece of aluminum tubing, Keith rummaged around in back and found an old piece of aluminum that was just the right diameter. Great customer service. I took it home, cut it to size and voilà I'm all good to go. My hand is all healed up too :smt001

Next stop the ARW halibut tournament.

John

Ha Ha. You can only make that mistake once. I also figured a way to tie it down with some bungie cord so it can't move when turned over.
