I recently purchased the Penn battle 2 combo with a 9ft 2 piece rod and the 6000 sized spinning reel to try surf fishing.  I spooled it with 300 yards of 30lb power pro braid, backed with about 50 yards of 15lb mono.  I took it out to Pomponio and it casts great, but it's just too big for me and I realize it'll probably sit there collecting dust in the future.  If you think you can use this reel/rod set-up, make me an offer. It was used once, cleaned up right after and has a fresh spool of braid on it.  Thanks for looking!

If you were wondering, I downsized and got a Penn battle 4000 series with a Tica salmon/steelhead 9'6" rod instead.
