Glad you came through your surgery OK. I had an ‘event’ last summer that was similar but different.  But I ended up where you did at Kaiser Vacaville getting plates and screws!  Best of luck with your recovery.

And here’s some advice based on my experience: the damm pain meds tie your plumbing in a knot.  Use them for two or three days max and then STOP.  When your fishing shit happens - on the pain meds shit never happens... and that is very uncomfortable.

I used the norco for the two days between the break and and the surgery to manage the pain. Once the surgery was done I had an IV Nerve block so no pain. after it ran out there was still no pain so no need for any more meds
never met a Dry Fly I didn't like
