Hey every going to HI at the end of the month  about doing a charter and bringing a travel rod to do some shore fishing. I was wondering if  any of the NCKA member had any recommendations on charters or locations to fish that are easily accessible.

Can't help you on a charter, but where are you staying?

I'm in the process of moving there, but have done a bunch of shore fishing over there the last few years on the east side

The east side is nicer and I've seen some nice fish caught from shore at a public park near China Hat. Can't remember the name. On the East side you will see a number of roadside guys selling their fresh caught fish. Pick up some early in the trip for BBQing etc.
For Kayak fishing David Elgas /Boogie-D / used to do kayak fishing guides. I had fun with him off the North Shore and got some Mahi. http://coastalkayaktours.com/ not sure if he is still connected with them and guiding.
There is also Jack Johnson also guides. https://alohakayakangleradventures.com/

Lastly, Isaac Brumaghim / Rocket may be guiding

In the game of biggest fish, if you can't enjoy routinely gettin' your ass handed to you, by great fishermen, then you don't belong in the NCKA.

I normally fish off the rocks around Sandys Beach.  I've also seen people fishing off Kawaikui Beach, Wailupe Beach, and Maunalua (though usually only at night).

If you are going  to fish from the shore keep a good eye on the surf report (surf line is good). Always  bring a good  pair of shoes,  the lava rock will mess them up pretty good but it better  than your  feet. If you go to Cholos home style Mexican  tell them Phil Niemi says hello. Check out Fish Hawaii Stye for lots of great tips.  All three volumes are  good to have and make good gifts.  Aloha
