We lost another ab diver today in Mendocino. Tide is low and the waves are high. No details on how it happened.

Is that # 7 this year??
I hope there are details later on. Not to seem morbid, but the more info we can get from these occurances the more we can learn and better prepare ourselves for the next time we go out.

I'll have a chance to review the report tomorrow, but I heard he was from San Francisco and he had last been seen by the people he was with about an hour before they found him. They did CPR for about 45 minutes before they called it.

CHEERS!

There was a Cencal Tourney there today and Justin sent me an email saying the conditions were horrible and some guys were literally getting blown away.

There was a Cencal Tourney there today and Justin sent me an email saying the conditions were horrible and some guys were literally getting blown away.

Early reports said the wind was going to be bad and they were thinking about postponing it.
Then reports later came in for better conditions so it looked like it was a go.
I really hate to hear of this happening to anyone. Sad sad occurance.
I am very interested in the report.

They should have called it off, but they didn't.  I do't think the fatality was part of it but I heard they did have to call the CG  helo out to look for an yak thatgot swept into the breakers.  The paddler apparently made it out ok...yikes.

Weather kept me from the coast again, it's just been a crappy season for weekend weather on the coast.
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
Superior, they said, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early.
