This time of year I usually fish a shallow slough and catch decent fish. I’ve thrown the same bait in this area for a few years and it has produced some personal bests for me. I’m a firm believer in reproducibility, so I keep good notes, use the same tackle/line/rod and reel. Weather is tracking about where it has for the last few years, water levels and water temps are on track as well. Something has changed though, what I usually do hasn’t been working so I decided to change it up a bit. I changed my bait, changed my line size, and presentation. Here’s the results...
