Just wanted to say hello as I am new to your board.  Lived in Novato, Vallejo, Fairfield and San Francisco '73-'75 while finishing high school and going to college.  Have not been back since ~'78 but remember fondly much of those years.  :smt011 (assume the emoticon is a blush)

Have been looking into sea kayaks for a while now and still know almost nothing about them.  My wife and son just took a short charter trip in them in Seward, AK, last week and loved them.  My son, 13, is a fishing fool, though mostly fly fishing of late.  Will have some questions about the tools of the trade as I go along and hope you folks will not mind pointing me in the right direction.

I have always been a power boat guy because access is what it is all about... ;)

PS Scott Thornley pointed me in your direction and I assume he uses the same handle here...  But we have been conversing for several years and I feel I know him.

While we've only been conversing for a few years now, "hap" and I have been participating on another outdoors forum for six or so years now. His knowledge and experience are quite extensive, to say the very least.

hap is also the charter captain mentioned in my thread regarding "Wanted: Kayak anglers to go to Kodiak Alaska" thread in the "Out of area events and tournaments" area.

Welcome to NCKA "hap" !!!

Welcome to NCKA, Hap! I look forward to reading your posts from Kodiak, which was my home in the late '60s and where I learned to fish. The trip Scott posted is beyond my reach in $$$ and most definitely in skill level. Otherwise, I would sign up in a minute. I know you guys will have a blast!

Guessing we know a lot of the same people...  Kodiak was not a big town in those days... I did not start spending time there until the mid-'80s but a lot of friends have been there forever!  I would guess it has changed a bit since you were there last!?!
