big game rod holder

Just got a Scotty and it fits fine for my salmon gear and one of my heavier rods, but I need something at least 2 1/8"  diameter for my other rods. I'd like to avoid a tube style holder. It's going to be used for trolling YT,Tsharks etc.... Do I need to get lighter gear to accomadate  my kayak? and if so any suggestions on rods?

I don't know how well they would fit in your big game but the Trevala is a pretty good, cheap heavier rod.

Just be sure that you have your drag adjusted for BIG Game before putting your rod in any holder. I heard somewhere that a kayak fisherman had his drag button down so that he could paddle through for the hookset, but the shark hit his rod HARD which popped his flush mounted rod holder and he couldn't pull his rod out. In the end he lost the shark and ended up having to repair the area around his flush mount.
