I have my FF mounted on the mod pod of my T-13. When I bring up crab traps I lay it flat down on the mod pod. I think I may have hit a button to dim the screen??

I checked voltage at the power cord and get 12 volts at the FF. I have followed some instructions from the Garmin website: TIP:

From any screen, press the power button   repeatedly to scroll through the brightness levels. This can be helpful when the brightness is so low you cannot see the screen.

Also tried this:

Not much luck so far so I was wondering if anyone has been through this before. I have tried to power it up but I don't hear a beep when press the button...although I cant remember having a beep when it was working. I was thinking of ordering a new power cord but I don't think that is the problem.

One thing I will do if I get this working is to have a hard copy of my favorite fishing spots so I wont lose them if the FF bites the dust!

Just an update if anyone is interested. I tried the power cord from my friend's Striker 4, I pressed the power button and had no beep so it is something internal with the FF.

I called Garmin, they asked the serial number, made up an RMA return number and offered a few options. I chose to have them charge my card and they would send a replacement FF right away, when they receive the defective one they will credit the amount back to my card. That seemed the fastest way to get a replacement. They were easy to deal with and did not require any information for the return. I guess they could tell it was still under warranty by the serial number?

I did learn a lesson. Have a backup of my favorite fishing spots!

I had a somewhat similar experience. A few years ago, I thought there was a problem with my Garmin FF and sent it in. They sent me a more recent model (and slight upgrade) as the replacement. It turned out that it was not a FF problem, but a wiring issue. In any case, Garmin was super-easy to deal with.
