Greetings group!
I'm an Architect working in Oakland. I kayak and fish when I can, typically 5 or 6 times a year. During the season I like HMB for ground fish, or sometimes the Delta for Striper and Largemouth. I fly fish and gear fish, depending on conditions and mood. When I can drag him out of bed, I also bring along my teenage son, who is turning out to be a pretty decent fisherman.
Historically, I'm a Trout guy from Montanta who found himself down here for work. After almost 10 years in the Bay Area, I really appreciate the variety of the challenges this great place has to offer. My goal for the year is to get in to some Salmon, and some big Ling! Steelhead on the fly is also a focus this year.
Boats: Jackson Kraken 15.5, Wilderness Systems Thresher 150.
Real name is Sean, alias is Peso. I'll answer to either. It's a long story. I'll tell you if we fish together.

Sean

Welcome, Sean. I'm new, too. I'm a flyfisherman by history and am trying to develop some "chops" for fishing for stripers on San Pablo Bay. I'm going to China Camp today. I don't have much knowledge to offer but if you want a fishing companion give me a holler. Randall

Welcome, Sean/peso.

I'm often done fishing for the day before my my teenage kids are out of bed, so I'm impressed that you're able to get your kid out on the water...
Are you pondering what I’m pondering?

Hey Sean,
welcome to NorCal’s finest fishing community!
I’m a GC out of Pinole (VT native) and got into ocean fishing a couple of years ago and HMB is where I fought my first Ling along breaching Whales and its  nice easy launch but IMHO a little farther south, Bean or PPoint has better fishing/more varied species, either that or Sonoma Coast.
I have a 14 yrold too but he can’t be convinced that the idea of suiting up to go into the great blue for diner sounds fun. My 12 yrold howere is more promising.
Hope to see you out there on day.
