Kayak Insurance ?

After I received the MMSI number for my radio I started getting offers for insurance from BoatUS. I figured what the heck, might as well get a quote. I wasn't sure if they would even cover a kayak but it turns out the they do offer different packages. I ended up getting a policy that covers about $900,000.00 liability, $100,000.00 uninsured boater, coverage for the kayak, and $250.00 towing coverage (Coast Guard does not tow). I also opted for the fishing package that covers about $4500 in gear. The premium per year is $152.00.

Just wanted to let people know that coverage is available from BoatUs(under written by Gieco). You might be able to get a rider through your homeowner or renters insurance as well.   

i'll wait until they get into bed with our government and MAKE IT MANDATORY for us to have this waste of coverage. I cant wait!
