Not so much kayak fishing related, but fishing nonetheless.  I put together a quick edit from my 4 day trip to Cabo recently.  Fishing was on the slow side, but I managed to land a really nice Wahoo and some tuna.

Edited with Final Cut Pro, shot w/ 2 GoPro Hero 4's

*Watch in HD if you have the bandwidth*

Hope you enjoy!

Got back last week.  Wahoo action really picked up right as I was leaving.  And I LOVE Wahoo sashimi!

Nice video, who did you fish with? Like them? How did you get fish back home?  I’ve been thinking about taking my dad down to go after marlins.

Nice video, who did you fish with? Like them? How did you get fish back home?  I’ve been thinking about taking my dad down to go after marlins.

Thanks.  The captain of Sea Boy (the boat I was on) is my buddy Sharluko.  Dude is a big time tuna guy down there (born and raised).   I'd be more than happy to set you up with him.  I also have another buddy down there named Felipe who fishes HARD.  Usually the boats/pangas come back in by 1pm, but he'll stay out till like 3 or 4 some times just to make sure you've gotten your fill.

Getting the fish home - bring a cooler or buy one down there.  This last time I brought down a 30L Ice Mule soft cooler which I just rolled up and put in my bag.  It did the trick pretty well, but the fish wasn't still frozen solid by the time I got back (but mostly was).  It did keep cold enough though, fish was fine.  In the past I've brought down a RTIC cooler and just checked it, but keep in mind you gotta pay to have it checked.  So paying to bring down and empty cooler just kind of sucks.  But... you gotta have some way to bring the fish back, right?
(pro-tip: 1 carry-on on the way down / put the soft cooler in there as well as a smaller backpack (dry bag type if you have one) to bring gear on the boat.  Put all lures and stuff that wouldn't go through security in pouches and put them in your rod tube (if bringing) and check that / On the way back, bring the soft cooler w/ fish on the plane as well.  1 personal item/1 carry on.  It'll save you money on checking bags)

There's a dude in the marina that will process, vac seal, and freeze your fish for you for a small fee.  He'll also smoke it for you (and vac seal) if you want, but he needs 2 days for that process.  If you go down for a week, just keep bringing fish to him to process and pick it all up the morning you fly out (he opens at 6am)

I also have good hookups on places to stay down there as well.

Let me know if you have more questions.  I'd be more than happy to help.

Thanks, man!  I go down a few times a year.  We should coordinate one of these trips.  Because yes, you do haha
