Hawk called me last night and invited me to join him for a bit of angling out of Trinidad this morning.  We hit the water shortly after 7AM and paddled directly out around the Head and toward the outside buoy.  There was talk of the salmon bite having started up, but we didn't hear or see any salmon action.  Trolled a WMA a couple of miles north and west for one black rockfish C&R'd.  Hawk had a chovie in a RSK behind a banana and also picked up a black on the troll.  We got to our farthest northern point and stopped to jig a bit, hoping for a ling or some big rockfish.  Got some hits, but nothing stuck.  The fishing was pretty slow, and I think you have to either get lucky and hit a fishy spot, or go a long way from the harbor.  It was a great time on the water, saw many dolphins and snapped a few pics that I'll post later.

Thanks, Hawk, for calling.  I'll look forward to next time.   :smt001

Here's a few pics of Hawk on the water today.

Just scarfed that snapper, baja fish taco style with my daughter. Finger lickin good. Always fun to kick it with you on the water Eric. I love that first shot but right before that I was staring into the gaping maw and it looked like an underwater cave. Hate to get sucked in.

Looking forward to hooking up with you up here, Chris - you may have to change your handle...  HCYakker (Humboldt Coast), or TemporaryHCYakker.  Oops!  Better not abbreviate the "Temporary" - someone might get the wrong idea!   :smt003

Jonesz - we're "chums", but I don't want to get that chummy!   :smt078
