Ok, so I am assuming I will not be fishing the lower sac river anytime soon.

Humpback whale AOYT points 0.0001 points per inch.

I'm gonna need a bigger slip-tip!
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
Superior, they said, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early.

Whoever latches into it would manage to get an authentic "nantuket sleigh ride".

Actually Jim you're way off on the points scale.  An adult humpback is about 50 ft long or about 600 inches.  The way Bill seems to have set up the AOTY points system, a decent sized catch receives about 150 points.  So in this case 150 points / 600 inches = 0.25 pts per inch.

They aren't "invasive", right?  They're just lost/moving/branching out/having a bad time........ :smt012
Saltwater is the cure for everything that ails us,

Actually, they are "invasive" in so much as they have recently increased in numbers (from 0 to 2) in an area outside of their native habitat (the ocean) and are causing some economic havoc (blocking shipping channels).

They aren't however "introduced".. human's didn't put them in the river.  Unless you think the boat accident thing confused them into going up river in the first place.

Got'cha Bill.  Despite the long chain I saw you jerking, I truly thought it an interesting concept.

So, bsteves, boats are the direct cause of other species migrations, esp mussels and plants, so, we could make an extreme and weak case I guess that they are invasive and caused by boating in the area.......more likely shipping in the area?

I think it was a PB that hit one of them...not a big ship.

Just what I heard...

In Loving Memory of Mooch, Eelmaster, Shicken, and Cabeza De Martillo

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...
