I'm thinking of selling my Outback with Hummingbird 383c and stepping into the Pro Angler 12 or 14.  Looking for suggestions on what I should mount for a fish finder.

Any suggestions?

Sorry I have no advice...but I'd be interested in your outback when your ready to make the switch.

I'd be interested in what new fish finder you would be buying after upgrading the the barge  :smt044
I'm still undecided which to buy after looking at so many options heh

Rhino969, I will keep you in mind when I'm ready to sell it.  I'm leaning toward Lowrane due to their better water tight connectors.  I'm going to upgrade to a Hummingbird Helix 7 for my boat and would  like to stay with the Hummingbird line but some reviews I've read seemed to focus on the Lowrance connectors.

Hobies are Lowrance ready? Does that mean they have to have that particular unit?
I'm looking to buy one too.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

Mako1,
I am pretty sure you can add other units besides Lowrance.  You can glue down the transducer onto the plate and it should work fine.  I believe it is the the only unique feature to the Lowrance.  Other than that, you are mounting with say a Ram Ball and can use anything fish finder.

Are you using one of the PA's?  I am going to try them out at California Canoe & Kayak (12' & 14')  They say the 14' is better for the ocean but I have never had a problem with my 12' Outback.
