hit the water N of san simeon at dawn and fished till 10 AM for about 15 small rockfish and 2 undersized lings- all released.  Not a single red  :smt010  Everyone I spoke to up there was also having a slo day.  Local fish reports are also reporting a slo bite.  Scoped out launch sites N of the piedras blancas MPLA that looked promising, so all was not lost

andy, i'm probably going to hit up there tomorrow if you wanna hook up.

also i've fished once north of PB in very rough weather, didn't get much but i believe there's deep water not far off Arroyo De La Cruz area.  i've seen commercial boats out there around a mile offshore.

i definately want to hit it again.

I ended yesterday coming out shivering.  I think I came down with a cold.  We will definitly have to hook up one of these times and fish "the cap" as you say.  There were lots of seals and one commerical guy working up there.

Good Luck!

i froze my butt off also.  i had to massage my feet to get them moving after 3.5 hours of being wet. i took me an hour to warm up afterwards.  i think the water must be chilly from all that wind we've had.  can't wait for the warm up or i'm getting some different booties.
