I went with 14' motorcycle tiedowns w/ratchets. This length allowed for the straps to hang down nice and low. I have an extra cutout in my garage making the ceiling 10ft high at the back. The 14ft straps bring the loops down to about chest height. No over the shoulder lifting!  :smt003 I made sure to put the ratchets on the same side. When up on a ladder I can reach both. I can control the rate of decent by slowly taking out just a couple of cliks on each ratchet. Works like a champ. Got everything at Home Depot. 2 14ft straps, 4 eyebolts = $21.00 with tax. Took about an hour to assemble.

Thanks Skinny

Cool ... that's one of the easiest ways to store a yak out of the way.  I just wish I had a bigger garage.
