Registration

I know this has been beat to death, and understand what is required to register a yak with an electric motor.  Here’s my question:

Is there any option to register a second Hand yak that was gifted to me without a cert of origin?   

I can “sell” the yak to myself to cover the sales tax issue with a bill of sale, but the CO is non existent.

It’s a Jackson Cuda 12 with a Bassyak TM setup. 

Sounds like a question for someone that works at the DMV. It might vary depending on who is helping you.
