Thursday north of san simeon report

Hit the cliffs @ sunrise this AM, hoping to get in before the winds hit.  the first 5 minutes I saw a grey whale mom and calf in about 20 feet of water.  Fished the outside but it was initially slow, then found an area w/ big vermillions just as the wind was picking up.  got 5 that ran to 6 lbs before the whitecaps began to form.  No lings and surprise, surprise, not a single blue rf (they are usually everywhere and pesky).  The pests today were the gopher rf (about 20) and the wind that was blowing by 10:30. 

Its nice to have a bit of meat in the freezer again!

Nice on the Reds, and no blues, maybe thats why there were no lings.
