I'm thinking about attending the Maker Faire at the San Mateo Fairgrounds on May 19th.

Quote
A two-day, family-friendly event that celebrates arts, crafts, engineering, science projects and the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) mindset. It's for creative, resourceful folks who like to tinker and love to make things.

For those of you who like to "make" stuff for your kayak like bait tanks and anchor systems you might find this intersting as well.  Who knows maybe NCKA can get a booth next year for "kayak fishing rigs".

I will probably make it with the wife and kid one of those days. Are you planning to go both days or just one? I think Fendente's wife is singing there as well.

Hey Bill,

My friend Derek from Hawaii is in town to run "Bay to Breakers" on Sunday, so I'm planning on meeting up with him at Maker Faire on Saturday.  I'll have Owen while Amy is off attending a wedding.  I probably should go to the wedding as well, but I don't get to see my buddy Derek too often.  For some reason seeing an old friend from out of town is a good excuse to get out of a wedding, but fishing isn't.

Yeah, Bill, My girlfriend will be playing on Saturday.  Believe it or not, she is with a group of folks who are playing the album, 'Ziggy Stardust', start to finish, on ukeleles and other wierd instruments.  Laura is singing and playing xylophone!  Her version of Sufragette City, with three part harmony, in a minor key, in waltz time is REALLY cool!

If you go, and want to know who she is, here's a pic of her, from a friends' online catalog.  She's the one in the pirate hat.
