Hit the river just before dark to find some catfish and see if the stripers were in yet.  No cats, no carp on anise dough balls  :smt012 and no sign of stripers...  Sam dog did however find a skunk and took one for the team, poor thing.  I gave her 3 baths with puppy shampoo and most of the smell is gone, but I may pick up some stuff from the pet store to finish the job tonight...

other than that, almost got a ticket for not paying for parking (forgot the annual tag in the glove box), but the ranger was very nice and let us off with a warning.  he didn't even say anything about Sam being off leash until we were leaving and he commented that she may not have been sprayed had she been leashed...but she was only about 10 feet from us when it happened, and i would be buying a new leash as well tonight...

the joy of living 3 min form the river  :)

Tomato juice works like V8. My dogs use to get sprayed quit a bit and it is what did the best job. Thanks for the update on the bite. Frank

Jim, Where did you fish, Discovery?

Years ago when I was young and single, I had an apartment next to the American (Watt & La Riviera). We had skunks wandering around the complex daily. I once had to grab my mom and shove her back into the apartment when three skunks trotted past my door.
Wild cats and skunks got confusing when partying...ah..good times.

Hey, what about the shad? Any showing? Let me know when they show and you'll be welcome in my driftboat for an American shad drift.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

The first reported catch on the sniffer was 4/30. They should be here soon.
I've never been shad fishing and look forward to giving it a try this year.

our apt. is at howe and AM. R. Dr.  so I fish alot right there at Howe.  I cant wait til the salmon are in and I can fish the punps right at the house  :smt001
I saw no shad yet, but I do have a box of shad flys and a Winston 8 just waiting...drift boat you say....

Usually when I hear skunk and party, its in ref to some old yellow beer (ew).  the dark beer I like rarely gets skunky ;)

The house and car still stink!  Sam smells fine though, gave her a puppy shampoo bath (3 times) right away and now she smells like a puppy.  I just wish everything else didnt stink!  so far everything has gotten one spray of "natures miracle" lets hope a few more sprays will make the smell go away............ugh

Maby it will fade while we are in Monterey this weekend  :smt003
